Q: What is Staging?

A: Staging is Home Preparation. It is the process of making interiors appear larger and exteriors more inviting while accentuating the home’s best architectural features. When used as a marketing tool, it transforms a home from a personal living space into a marketable commodity that will appeal to a wide buying audience. Quite simply, Home Staging is making your home the best it can be!

Q: How does Staging benefit the seller?

A: Staging benefits the seller by taking the home preparation pressure off you and putting it in the hands of an experienced, objective professional. A Staged home photographs well and advertises better, making your property easier to market! The selling process is usually quick and easy. Location and price will get buyers to your door, but Staging will help close the sale!

Q: Isn’t Staging just for high-end homes?

A: Absolutely not. Many times more modestly priced homes benefit the most from Staging services. There is a service to fit every budget.

Q: How long will Staging take?

A: : Fast-Track staging may take only a couple of hours. A Staging Consult will require the stager to be in your home 1-2 hours, although it is not necessary you be with them all that time. It also requires time on your part to complete the suggestions. Hands-On Staging may take a couple of visits, but the homeowner does not need to be present for the work to be completed.

Q: Why Stage a vacancy?

A: A picture is worth a thousand words! Go to my Portfolio section of the website and see the difference it can make.

Q: Why not hire an Interior Designer?

A: Staging is not decorating. It accentuates the positive features of your property—not your possessions. In general, rooms will be more sparsely furnished to allow the client to mentally “move right in”! In the case of re-design, staging is for smaller projects. Think of a day at the spa vs. a surgical face-lift!
